Funding Opportunities at the Design Institute for Health and Resilience (DIHR)
The Design Institute for Health and Resilience (DIHR) offers several funding opportunities to support research, training, and professional development in the areas of health, resilience, and inclusive design. These opportunities aim to foster the next generation of researchers and practitioners committed to improving human health through design.
DIHR Postdoctoral Fellowship
The DIHR Postdoctoral Fellowship aims to support independent and collaborative research, grant writing, publication activities, and opportunities for professional development within DIHR. This fellowship provides funding for two years, which is renewable for up to three years. In addition, fellows receive an extra funding for professional development, including participation in conferences and career advancement activities. Postdoctoral fellows are also eligible for a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
DIHR PhD Studentship
The DIHR PhD Studentship is intended to support either new or existing PhD students. The studentship provides tuition assistance and stipends (9 months) for doctoral students. The funding recipients are required to complete their scheduled coursework, develop a dissertation research agenda, and engage in ongoing research projects related to DIHR. The studentship also provides access to research and travel funding opportunities, mentorship, and career guidance aimed at enhancing students' research skills and contributing to health and resilience research.
DIHR Summer Fellowship
The DIHR Summer Fellowship provides financial support (up to $5000) for graduate students interested in gaining hands-on research experience over a 3-4 month period. Fellows will assist with ongoing research projects, develop their own independent research initiatives, and present their findings at the conclusion of the program. In addition to the stipend, the summer fellowship offers participants mentorship, networking opportunities with DIHR faculty and researchers, and the potential to contribute to publications.
