DIHR faculty member Dr. Valerie Greer has been named Leader of the Year at the 2026 Women in Architecture Awards. Dr. Greer is an Assistant Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the University of Utah School of Architecture, Co-Director of the Healthy Aging and Resilient Places (HARP) Lab, and a founding member of the Design Institute for Health and Resilience (DIHR).
Her research examines the connections between architecture, health, and aging, including how the design of homes, neighborhoods, and communities can support physical and mental well-being in later life. She also teaches architecture and works with students across design and research.
The Leader of the Year recognition is presented by Women in Architecture SLC, an organization that supports women and advances gender equity in the architecture profession.
DIHR congratulates Dr. Greer on this recognition and her continued contributions to research, education, and design.
