We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of Nature in a Box, an innovative project led by Andy Hong, faculty member of the Design Institute for Health and Resilience (DIHR) and Director of the Healthy Aging and Resilient Places (HARP) Lab.
This project investigates the feasibility of virtual reality (VR)-based nature interventions to support cognitive health, particularly for individuals living with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). With limited pharmacological treatment options, especially in underserved and rural communities, Nature in a Box offers an accessible, innovative alternative.
By integrating immersive VR with rigorous scientific evaluation, Nature in a Box aims to bridge healthcare gaps in rural areas where access to cognitive care and specialists is limited.
