DIHR Faculty Member Dr. Ajla Akšamija Recognized at the Facade Tectonics Institute’s Vitruvian Honors & Awards

DIHR proudly recognizes Dr. Ajla Akšamija, Professor and Distinguished Chair for Resilient Places in the Department of Architecture and Planning, who was recently honored by serving as the keynote speaker at the Facade Tectonics Institute’s 2025 Vitruvian Honors & Awards Ceremony in New York City.

Dr. Akšamija’s keynote, “Facade Retrofits: Design Methods for Improving Facade Performance of Existing Buildings,” highlighted innovative strategies for advancing high-performance building envelopes and sustainable design practices. Her leadership and research continue to demonstrate DIHR’s commitment to integrating technology, architecture, and resilience in the built environment.
