DIHR Faculty member Dr. Andy Hong was invited as a keynote guest speaker at the Age-Friendly and Environmentally Sustainable Cities workshop, hosted by Kyoto University in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO). This event which took place at Kyoto University Medical Campus from 11–13 March 2025, brought together experts from Europe, the US (Andy Hong), and the Asia-Pacific region to explore how cities and communities can be both age-friendly and environmentally sustainable. Discussions covered key challenges, including:

Integrating policies on aging with climate action
The role of collaboration across sectors to foster innovation and shared solutions
Practical ways to design cities that are inclusive, accessible, and resilient
